Transition to a Climate Neutral Future

The three-day European pupils’ conference in Elefsina entitled Transition to a Climate Neutral Future is to be attended by primary and secondary school students (10-15 years old) from schools in Elefsina, Attica, Thessaloniki, as well as from Germany and other European countries. The aim is to create the greatest possible interaction between the pupils of Elefsina and those of other cities, in order to generate ideas for an energy efficient and climate neutral future. Both the schools’ preparatory work and the structure of the conference are based on participatory methods for empowering the pupils, bringing forth their views, and creating a collective vision. These methodologies can be used as best practices thereafter and shared with the wider national and European educational community, in line with the vision of sustainability served by the European Capitals of Culture initiative.
